We've all seen wonderful changes in people we know. Yes, I believe people can change, but I also believe that it has to come from the heart. The individual has to reach deep within their heart and soul to bring this change about.
Although I do not give credance to zodiac signs nor believe we've had a previous life, I do believe that we are born with a unique temperament/ personality. I am pessimistic by nature, and sometimes have to go great lengths to see the positive side of a life situation or problem. It's hard work and some days are better than others. I just have to continue to strive to better myself in that area.
I sure went around the barn door in answering your question, but hope you know what I mean!

Got it...I agree with that Sue, change has to come from the heart and the hard part is getting it from the head and into the heart, don't you think? I suppose that's what meant by "opening ones heart"!

Yes, we have the head knowledge, but getting heart knowledge is much more difficult.

I would say ditto to what Sue said.People don't"change" their basic temperament traits but they can certainly work on the negatives the temperament and make improvements..with lots of work and dedication and paying close attention to those negativet raits in our inborn temperaments, conversely we can improve the strengths of our temperaments also,or not and then they won't"shine" as they might if we enhnaced them with self-improvement or relying upon the Holy Spirit to help us and put on His qualities as well.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,...
So yes it is entirely possible for people to change.Sometimes by strong self-will and sometimes only by the Spirit of God.
Good question Georgia.

Janie

Dear Georgia,
Oh, I truly know we can change. I have changed very much in my lifetime and expect to change very much more. Even my basic nature has changed over the years. Of course depending on who you ask that may be a good thing, or not!
Even astrologically speaking, oft-times when people are aware of their planet positions and find the planets are in a negative place, many will choose to ignore that as being something "bad" or "undesirable" Instead, to me, it is a great opportunity to look at the shadows within and come to terms with them either by accepting them as is or changing them to be more benevolent. We, as you know, are all a work in progress.
love to you,
Debra
