This sounds like such a lame and just a superficial question compared to the battles and the suffering that soo many are going through, but as we are off topic,I will ask. Since I had my last prostetic breast, I have lost 20 pounds and am starting to see a definate difference in both breasts. I have another year before my health plan will pay for my next prostetic breast. What can I do to make both breasts look the same size until I get a replacment...any ideas??

i found the shoulder pads off a blouse fit nicely. It adds a cup size to the lumpectomy breast. the ones I found on a blouse, had velcro stripe down the middle, so, stuck to my cotton bra nicely.
I've also seen shoulder pads, in the knitting section of zellars or walmart.
At one point, I even considered being a teen again and padding my bra with some socks.
Or maybe borrow a hint from our nursing, and dripping days, and get one of those big square hankies from the dollar store and fold to fit.
Ps. I also am quite conscious of the boob and a half in a tight fitting t-shirt, so chose loose blouses so the difference is not so noticeable.

You could get one of those bras with gel in them, and take the gel out of the prosthetic side? Some bras come with 'pockets' to allow you to take the gel in or out as you wish. You can also buy the gel separately, but it's nice to have the actual pockets to put it in as then it won't slip. I know it means purchasing a couple of new bras - but you can get lovely ones, and sure a gal can't have too many sexy bras!
Good luck,
Love, Paula (Ire).

Nancy, I think this is a Main Forum topic. I would bet that many of the women here have this problem. I know I do. My "reduced" breast is at least a cup size larger than the reconstructed one. I use a foam insert on the small side slipped inside my bra. Paula's suggestion sounds good because I am always aware of making sure the insert has not slipped out of place. The pocket would solve that problem. Hugs, Joy

Joy,
I'm curious.
Foam, or gel, with the heat, since we sweat.
wouldn't they feel calmy, and sticky??
Wouldn't they eventually smell??
Umm what about washing them??
Then again I do use foam makeup pads inside my skates, inside the ankle area, to help fit better, and they don't pick up that much ordor.

I watched this bathing suit makeover show on WE TV and they were enhancing breast size with inserts. I e-mailed and they gave me some websites to check out that sell these inserts. I had a lumpectomy, and this treated is so much smaller that I wear a half prosthesis on that side. I have lost weight and also need a smaller half. I haven'nt purchsed one from this website yet but here is WE TV's reply, hope it helps.

Thanks for contacting WE tv. These inserts are sometimes called chicken cutlets because of their shape. Victoria's Secret has them and you can also look at these website for other styles:

Again, thanks for your interest in WE tv.
