They feel we need to do everything to insure no more school shootings, including giving guns to teachers.

I am not making this up, I just heard it on the news. Madness.

Georgia,
Why am I not surprised that this would be proposed as a remedy? Why will I not be surprised when it is adopted?

So sad but true Paula..of course in my day students weren't blowing up other students and teachers in the classroom either.
What is the world coming too? It's end probably..
Love,
Janie

Dear Georgia,

This is too funny! I am sorry, but the idea is simply so outrageous that I have to laugh....

When I started scool, rods were still in use and you might get a rap over your fingers. Soon, this was forbidden, but teachers where still allowed to whack you with their hand. Then any kind of physical punishment became forbidden before my own children began school.

I can just imagine the scene: A pupil has forgotten his homework for the umpteenth time, and the teacher is getting desperate. He draws a gun, aims it at the child and says: "Now you know what will happen to you next time you forget". And the pupil draws his gun and says: "Yeah but my draw is faster than yours" - OK Corral!

Thinking back over some of the teachers I have known, I would not trust them with a gun. We would have to arm the pupils, too!

Lots of love,
Christine
